Best place to get your ears pierced?

I’m thinking about getting another piercing in each earlobe. Where is the best place to get it done? I know people get it done in malls like at Claire’s and similar stores, but the majority of the people who work in those types of stores are young people/teenagers…I don’t know how much I trust them piercing my ears. I read that the people at Icing (store similar to claire’s) are trained but I’m still unsure…some young people are careless, especially when they don’t get paid very much for their job. Also, those places use piercing guns and I read that most piercing guns cannot be sterilized. My friend was saying that if I go to a tattoo/piercing place, they’ll probably look at me weird cuz it’s more for body piercing. Where should I go? I want someone with experience who really knows what they are doing.

Your friend’s advice is off-base. Any good piercer would be happy to pierce your ears. They will do it in a safer way than any mall-based gunslinger. They will walk you through the options (location, jewelry, healing) and – when necessary – will provide post-piercing support. I doubt that Claire’s (or Pagoda or any other similar chain) will do anything but sell you another pair of cheap earrings.
