Will having tough skin make it more likely for my body to reject a belly button piercing?
I recently got my belly button pierced after having considered it for about a year or so. When I went to get it done it took a bit longer than expected and the guy who did it said the reason it was so difficult was because I had really tough skin. I got the piercing and it didnt bleed once he got it in but does this mean that my body will be more likely to reject the piercing because the skin was so tough? I just wanted people’s opinions on this; preferably if you are a professional who has done piercings before or if you’ve experienced something similar.

I also wanted to know how I would be able to tell if my body is rejecting the piercing.
How tough your skin is has nothing to do with how well your piercing will heal or anything to do with your piercing. My piercer was talking to a woman who said she had really tough skin and he said that makes no difference at all if you have a good piercer. One of my nipple rings rejected and could tell because it was getting closer to the surface.
