What is your opinion of tattoos from a religious perspective?

The Bible does not say anything concrete about tattoos (Obviously) but said: "Treat your body like a temple, which means that you must respect your body as belonging to God, but you can delete all this, for example;. if you cut your hair, wear makeup, have their ears pierced, win / lose extreme amounts of weight, etc. etc. Personally, I am a Christian and I find tattoos offensive to me or, more importantly, God. Provided it is not obscene or rude or anything, I see no problems with it. What are your thoughts? I would appreciate comments on the topic lol wow. I was not expecting much from this, but I really been enlightened: D

You must not make cuts in your flesh for the dead, tattoos or marks on you: I am the LORD. Leviticus 7:28 p.m. I must be on God's side on this issue. If you do not get one and if so, if the Christian and you know rest.

Question for Christians?

Well I am a Christian and I am going to a Christian University in the Fall. The handbook says you can get kicked out for being gay, which isnt a problem for me but I dont agree with it. The bible says that its not okay to be homosexual which I agree with but it also says not to pierce or mark your body and not to divorce. Shouldnt everyone who has their ears pierced get kicked out too? In Gods eyes all sin is equal so why do we consider one sin to be worse than another?
I honestly dont know the answer which is why I asked. But the bible said not to pierce or mark you body. It doesnt say its okay as long as its a spiritual message.

Perhaps when you go to the university you will learn how to interpret the Bible in it’s cultural and historical context.

God’s plan for human sexuality has remained constant since He created us. He designed men to be with women and in a moral context for them to form a lifelong commitment of faithful marriage.

The Lord Jesus reaffirmed this basic principle when asked a question about divorce.

Matthew 19:3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”

4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
.
When it comes to tattoos or piercings, those were cultural commands which were given so that the Israelites whom God was calling out of Egypt to be “His people” would not take up the practices of their pagan neighbors in regards to performing acts associated with idol worship.

Now if a “Christian” got a tattoo of the numbers “666″ on their forehead then the university would have grounds to exclude them from the student body. But just having a tattoo with no spiritual significance to it while it may be unwise, is not a sin.

What if a person had a tattoo of this verse from the Bible on their arm?

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Do you think that’s a sin?
