Can allergies vary based on part of the body?
I noticed that different parts of my body react in different ways to the same common allergens. For instance, my first set of earlobe piercings are okay with standard earrings; but, I have to buy hypo-allergenic earrings for the second set of earlobe piercings because I get an allergic reaction to standard ones .
It is not only with metals with me, either. I have a similar problem with certain soaps reacting badly on my back and nowhere else.
Is it possible that one particular allergen can affect one part of the body and not another?
