If your body is a temple, then why all the fuss?
So many “Christians” are against tattoos, piercings, and other body art because, they claim, “your body is your temple.” When I got my ears pierced (I have four piercings, two in each ear) some of the people in my former church (church at the time) had scorn.
My question is what is wrong with body art? After all, Christian/Catholic temples/church/cathedral/whatever you want to call it, are often ORNATELY and OPULENTLY decorated.

Irrelevant. They say your body is a temple. Well, so is a cathedral. The standard should apply to both or none. If you used those obvious deductive reasoning skills to show that I am not a building and applied it to a man living in a whale or a Great Flood covering the planet, you’d be just fine.

Because, religion is based of fear of the unknown.
I’m sorry if this is harsh but Im just going to put in my views on religion here!
But yeah religion is based on fear, because well one reason we don’t know whats going to happen when we die, when science cannot explain something, we turn to religion, we turn to god because of it being a ‘greater being’
I used to be VERY religious, and I respect other peoples views but i’ve learnt to just keep my mind open.
And yes your last paragraph is SO TRUE, if your body is a temple, yet christians decorate their temple (well the church)
You’re not harming your body or disrespecting anyone, people are just being scornful to make themselves feel better, to make you feel bad, – its just how SHIT people can be ay?
