Why do people pierce the body and have tattoos?

It's just not the same as the choice of clothes to reveal or draw attention. This is something profound. I want to understand "why" kids want to make holes in their bodies and draw graffiti on a building and art perfect – - the human body.

Sometimes children will rebel in need to feel accepted. Some adults, because it is so simple that's personal preference. I'm 25 and I got my first tattoo 2 years ago. There is no mystery or hidden meaning behind it. I because I thought it would be nice, and it does. I do not regret it.

I want to get my cartiledge pierced but my parents won’t let me…?

So I have this problem with my ears…there is a build up of scar tissue and I cannot get them pierced in the normal spot or they will swell and I’ll have to have surgery (I know from experience ).
I really hate being one of the only girls without her ears pierced so I wanted to get my cartiledge pierced.
I haven’t told my parents because I already got my hair semi-permanently dyed and I promised my Dad that I would never do anything “trashy” like that again so that I could do it.
My dad is really against all this kinda stuff…I had to talk to him 3 years to get my ears pierced at the normal spot.
He’s really uptight about that stuff, like he won’t even let us get henna or airbrush tattoos or write on ourselves. He thinks God gave us perfect bodies and we shouldn’t change them.
Help!

well then hte only answers to your question is to wait til you r18 and your an adult its your dads beliefs and he doesnt want you to look like trash while you are at shcool or in public respect him if not itll cause fights and more stress all you can do is to deal with it right now,
