morbid metals from hot topic…….really need some advice about my new piercings?

ok well i got 2 piercings on monday, and today i took them out and switched the original rings with 2 that i bought from hot topic made by morbid metals…… well i was talking to my BF and he told me i need to put the original ones back in because the new ones i got are going to infect them, and that since i put in colored ones the color is going to flake off and make it worse…..
any ways are the morbid metals body jewelery rings made out of steel, like the ones you get at the piercing shops? and the color isnt going to flake off of them right? i mean they arent painted….
and before i put them in i cleaned them really well, so it should be ok right?

Well the problem is you shouldn’t have taken your piercing out until they fully heal. This could infect them. I wear two black morbid metal horse shoe rings in my lip. I haven’t had a problem with these flaking off. The color only comes off if I play with them, but that’s after months of wearing them.
Yes they are made out of surgical stainless steel. I believe they are coated with PVD processed titanium, which adds the color, but I’m not 100% sure.
