Septum piercing infected?
I noticed an infection in my septum piercing a few days ago, two days after starting, I got it. I realized that my body began to ache, and the closest person in any reliable way knowledge has been my health teacher. She said that the infection may have been in my blood, and if it was still there Monday, I remove the jewelry. I pulled out two days before she suggests, and I sure to clean before letting heal more. Pain in the nose is already starting to fade, even if I have a little headache, but I'm always anxious to see if I'm in danger.
Any infection can get really into the bloodstream, but I doubt that would happen in this case. I do not understand why, but many people say they have not infected piercing jewelry until it heals. I say, and I have many piercings myself, as a perforation of the septum, which is cleaned with antibacterial soap and hot water, put some peroxide on a [occasionally, because it could end up killing the good bacteria you need for this] healing, and Neosporin. I do every time you have an infection, and always disappear within 1-2 days.
