Tattoos and the field of medicine?

Im 18 now and I really thought about body mods the first year. I am now old enough to get any mods BUT I please I want to pursue a career in the field of medicine. = P I want to be a doctor and I said that doctors and tattoos / piercings do … really match … I want snake bites (piercing) and at least one tattoo Sleeve … I can still do piercings before moving on to serious medical tattoos but … Do you think that might work? I wear long sleeves all day if this is what is needed. Please and thank you for your answers! by the way … I do not want an answer to talk about how tattoos / piercings are gross or whatever ..

Even before the arrival of a physician and clinical laboratories and start school, they make you take all her piercings and tattoos to hide (or wear long sleeves) I have three tattoos and I had put in which is covered with a shirt. If you are comfortable with long sleeves that is their choice, not me. As a woman I am only allowed to use all the studs.

Tattoo Artist Career?

I am fifteen, I draw quite well and I am in love with art. I am also in l o v e with tattoos and any kind of piercing as long as the stretching on it isn’t too extreme. My mother is aware what I want to be when I reach adulthood, ( a tattoo artist ), but she worries about me not having insurance, or benefits, or not making enough money. Can someone who knows the business help me out? Is there health insurance available for body piercers / tattoo artists? Paid vacations? Do you get paid solely on commission? How much money do you make yearly? I tried looking for these answers online but no one gave clear and specific answers. I’d appreciate if someone answered these. Also, if I want to become a doctor / dentist / something else professional do they allow tattoos? I don’t want to eventually get a bunch all over and wind up working at a pizza place. Any answers help, Thank you.

Most likely you will be employed as an independent contractor, with no benefits, no rights, no healthcare. I’ m certain there must be a license with a requirment for you to be allowed to tattoo and pierce. You would be crazy not to carry a (hefty-priced) liability insurance as well.

If you are successful you may later have your own business and be fully self-employed.

I advise you major in art at college or university, and minor in business. There is plenty of time to explore the other areas and techniques involved in the art training. Any person who plans on being a free-lance artist with their own business should have some training in the nuts and bolts of how to run a business.

best regards.
