Piercings?

I realize what a stupid question it will be ridiculous and I'm asking is: I have pierced nipples – 16G – and I will fly this weekend. I was wondering if it trigger the metal detector? I do not want to face shame, because I'm traveling with my mother. I understand how it sounds ridiculous, but if you've heard the story of women nipple rings, trigger the detector at the airport then you will understand my concern! * For those of you who have not heard, click here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23830845/ There will certainly not detected, I heard many stories about how they did not. But knowing my luck, I shovel down and emits a beep. … And yes, they are made of titanium.

I have 14 piercings and never make a metal detector with them. I'm in the army, if I fly often, but usually not uniform, and always have all my piercings. They will not make you take them out.

Body piercings & Airline security–how scary will it be?

I’m flying out of Newport News VA and afraid of how the metal detectors will react to my nipple piercings (12g stainless barbells). Anyone gone on a plane lately with these? Is it going to be a huge big mess culminating with me taking my clothes off in front of security people?
Cause that would really suck… >.<
piercings are only 4 months old, can't take them out.

I have both nipples pierced and travel frequently. I’ve never had a metal detector go off. It’s about the equivalent to keeping your wedding ring on or a small chain necklace – which I also keep on.

I wouldn’t worry about it, but yeah, if you’re really worried about go ahead and take them out. I don’t know how new the piercings are, but if they’re close to a 6 months or more, you’ll have no problem putting them back in again later. If it’s newer, I wouldn’t take them out.
