body piercing training courses

Any perforation of internships and courses in Las Vegas?
I'm interested in drilling in the body, but i need help to start. What should I do? I also like to find some sort of internship or a way to get practical training and experience. If you can help would appreciated! Thank you! =]
Call and visit local stores to ask them if they are interested in training an apprentice. Enough much.
Body piercing Apprenticeships?
Im 16 and want to start body piercing. How would i start to learn? Firstly, am i too young? My friends doing training and is piercing at 16 in a studio now. Would it be a case of going to a studio and asking? or would i need to take courses? Also do apprenticeships pay or do you pay them or is it just unpaid training? Thanks x
A responsible piercer (the type you’d want to apprentice under) would not consider taking you on until you are 18 years of age or older–for a variety of reasons.
Here’s the start of the chapter on apprenticeships from my book “The Piercing Bible–The Definitive Guide to Safe Body Piercing:”
In an ideal situation, an apprentice spends several months learning about body jewelry and acquiring counter-help skills. This interval allows the piercer to assess the apprentice’s capabilities, trustworthiness, and work ethic. Later, the apprentice observes piercings, and eventually performs them under close supervision. In the best case the instructor will be a truly accomplished expert, and she will teach the apprentice everything she knows. One year of full-time training under a mentor is a reasonable minimum for most apprentices.
Apprentices are frequently paid as employees, although they commonly receive a rather low hourly rate or salary. Most ethical piercers will not take you on as an apprentice unless they intend to keep you on staff. There is little point in devoting intensive time and energy to training you if you will leave to set up a competing studio or have to seek a job in a glutted market.
Some piercers take on trainees as cheap labor or to make extra income by requiring that apprentices pay for their training. These apprenticeships are seldom fruitful. Be very suspicious of any instructor who claims you can be taught body piercing in a brief period—especially if you must pay a substantial fee. You could find yourself in the same position as the piercers who pay thousands of dollars for a three-month program only to find that it was dangerously incomplete and unprofessional.
Openings for legitimate apprenticeships are rarely advertised because piercers can pick from a flock of hopefuls they already know. Networking and persistence are needed to land a position. Talk to piercers and develop a rapport with any you trust and admire. Have piercings done on yourself and make it clear to your piercer how interested and serious you are about piercing as a career. Consider volunteering your time to help out around the studio so you can get to know one another better; be persistent but not pesky.
