I think having a surface piercing?

between my breasts … as in my neck and I was wondering if anyone had a problem with it before … I am a little nervous b / c my friend had several holes in the surface and his body rejected the scars and now I really do not want a scar in this area. Comments? suggestions? and please do not put so just do not understand … I'm looking for serious answers here, please oh and I also had my lip piercing for 4 years but seems to have made my gums to wear … is what I can do to prevent this, or is the only alternative to remove it?

Surface Piercing?

I want to get a clavicle surface piercing, but I’m not sure if I should, or what I should expect. I’ve heard they’re hard to heal and there is a good chance that the body will reject it. I don’t want to spend a butt load of money on it and then have not even be able to keep it, ya know? I pretty much want to know anything and everything you have to say about it. (:
Does is scar badly??

Okay, everyone THINKS that all surface piercings will reject. However, if a piercer is experienced and is doing them right, they really shouldn’t. My piercer has had surface piercings that are years old and still lasting. My friend has had her nape pierced for almost 3 years. I have my nape pierced…and it’s only day 2 and it’s been the easiest, most healthy, and least painful piercing I have ever had.

I would NEVER let just any piercer do a surface piercing on me. I’d have to know the piercer for a long time and be 100% sure that he/she is able to do the piercing and make it work. I’ve known my piercer for almost 5 years now and I know that he is amazing so I trusted him to do my nape piercing. Like I said, so far it’s been the easiest piercing I’ve had (ear lobes included). He took about 20 minutes of marking and having me move my neck around to see what the best spot for it would be to where it wouldn’t deal with a lot of problems. It’s also done with a surface bar which is most recommended for surface piercings.

Like I said, just don’t go to any old piercer to get a surface piercing done. If they don’t know what they are doing, it has a higher risk of rejecting. I am not saying mine won’t reject. There is a possibility it may. But it’s just something you have to accept going into getting a surface piercing.

Mine is hardly 48 hours old (not even, actually) and there has been no crusties, no dried blood, no pain, no puss, no bleeding, nothing. The redness went away within hours and the pain went away within minutes. The only time I feel it is if I move my neck around.

Research the piercing, research the artist, talk to multiple artists, and go from there.

Edit: Just wanted to add that I have had almost 20 different piercings. I’ve had multiple lobes, labret, monroe, nostril, rook, snug, nipple, navel, conch, multiple helix piercings, etc. Just to compare, like I said…my nape has been the easiest of them all. Surface piercings aren’t as scary as they appear.
