What does the Bible say about piercings?

I know that in some areas is said to be wrong, but in other situations People say is acceptable for you to get your ears pierced, if so, why is bad for you to get an offshore drilling

what does it realy mean when it states in the bible that we should not mark our body?

because of this, my mom will never let me pierce my body/ears or get any tattoos. yet my pastor has tattoos!! i just really want my ears pierced & a butterfly tattoo on the back of my neck, but cos im a christian im scared to do something that the bible tells NOT to do. so what does it really entitle???
hahaha yes my pastor is a punk! he has the mohawk, the tattoos down both arms, an earring (like the one that leaves a big hole in your lobe).. hahahahahahahahahahahhaha! yet NOBODY judges him, and the teens LOVE him!!!
i read somewhere in the bible that we get new bodies anyways, that its okay to mark the flesh because its just that, flesh. we apparently get spiritual bodies once we die. Another few people tell me its okay to pierce & mark the body tattoo wise, but its NO OKAY to actually get plastic surgery done to make alter yourself (cos then apparently you’re playing God & that is not how he wanted you to look) kind of thing.

It means that my tattoos are by far cooler than yours.
