I need to get my body jewelry for a scanner?

Im having a TAC is thursady, and I was wondering if I do to make my navel piercing for that or if it would be OK to leave in.

The radiologist who interprets your study will not confuse body jewelry for pathology. But, body jewelry will create an artifact which could potentially hide pathology. A CT scan is a type of x-ray examination, and for both types of studies, all types of metal should be removed when they are in the area of interest (ie, dentures taken out for a CT of the brain, necklace taken off for chest x-ray, zippered pants removed for back x-rays etc).
