Is this true about piercings?

Is it tru to pierce the abdomen that can strike a nerve and paralyzed? Does not seem possible, but perhaps true. nobody knows? And there is some danger in the lip piercing? than bleed to death, or hitting a major vein or something? Thank you <3

You can damage to the nerves under the skin and permanent numbness. You can not be paralyzed from the navel piercing, but a piercing done wrong can cause side loss of function in some small muscles in this area. You will not bleed to death, no large vessels easy access to these sites. If you go a professional will have no problem. People who suffer extreme damage from piercing or whatever it is they or someone of ill repute. The greatest thing you really worry about is infection.

ok soo im 14 and im trying to convince my mum to let me get my tongue pierced ok she hates them she thinks they are gross i think they are cool . my arguement is its my body i should be able to get one done if i want .. hers is im her daughter and what she says goes .. its my birthday comming up and i asked her if i could get one and she keeps getting angry at me for asking this is the last piercing i want i have my belly dont my 1st seconds third and cartlidge . and i just want my tongue done . i know the mdical dangers and that the tongue swells and it hurts like a bitch but i really want this done .. im inlove with them ..

Hun honestly, i know the feeling. i’m 19 now, and i was around your age when i wanted mine too. but as an adult now, i realize how important your “mothers” words are. respect her wishes, and trust me, if you go behind her back and do it, it will really ruin the way she trusts you. Also, i have a couple friends who really hurt themselves by getting their tongue pierced, because they were your age, they went to places who weren’t proffesional, and got their tongue infected. And trust me, you do NOT wantt that. would you wanna risk the chance of not being able to taste anymore? or have trouble talking? just think about that. Once you’ll get older, you’ll see why your mom said no. She just loves you, and is worried. hope i helped =]
