How do i know if my lip piercing is infected?

Well i got my lip pierced the other day and i had a friend do it.
i been using listerine but switch to a non – alcoholic mouth wash now.
lip is swolen but not to the point where its like oh my god what happening. i wash my mouth like 3 – 5 times a day after i smoke eat etc. besides that my lip doesnt hurt to much just a bit. no discharge i dont believe and it doesnt smell or anything. but i got my ring from a company named body works i think not to sure it was at a lip piercing place though. some advise or somethings i can do to be extra careful?

Infection is defined by the following, redness swelling, discharge
and finally fever by the time you have a fever things are out of hand and your lip is in jeopardy
please do to a clinic, free if you have to insurance
and if you will not
keep it clean, before and after everything you eat and drink
and by all means no kissing.
put some triple antibiotic on it , in the am and more important
at night before bed
try and keep your hands off it your Had’s will always have germs
and before applying anything wash your hands for at least 3 minutes before you do anything
if you develop a fever please go to ER or urgent care asap please
