body piercing aftercare solution
Can I use for ear lobe swollen?
my otherhalf has rings in its earsbut a lobe of the ear is still really imflammed been using monitoring body piercing, but it was not really doing something. Anyone have another solution?
Neosporin. He put on the earring post before pasting it into the hole. My ears are still being infected and put me in the boat before putting Neosporin message to my ear. Healthy. Use as often as necessary.
Proper Aftercare for a Marilyn ?
Well, I have now decided that I want a 2mm diamond stud, commonly referred to as the Marilyn.
I’ve done my research, made an appointment with my piercer for next week.
However, my research is a bit conflicted when it comes to aftercare. So would any of you piercers or Marilyn-bearers give me a few tips?
Do I use the cleaning solution that the piercer gives me, or should I use something else? I would assume a sea salt soak would be a bit much, but maybe I’m wrong.
Am I still able to use cleaning solutions on my face, or should I stick to mainly soap and water until the piercing heals?
What are the best ways I can keep my body from rejecting this piercing?
And any other tips/advice would be GREATLY appreciated, *:)
Everywhere is conficted when it comes to aftercare as there are SO many different ways to do it, and many of them will work.
Since it goes from the inside of your mouth to the outside, its not really an area where there is much pressure pushing in any direction. That means it is a pretty low chance of rejection as long as the bar is LONG enough, and your not allergic to the metal or aftercare.
Actually, salt solution is one of the best things to use. On the inside, get an alcohol free mouthwash, and swish it about 3 times a day, plus any time after you eat or smoke or anything like that. Make sure it’s alcohol free, as alcohol will dry out the piercing. You can also use the salt solution as mouthwash if you prefer.
Just make sure it’s 1/4tsp SEA salt, not table salt, to 8oz water. Yes, weaker is better, as again it will dry out the piercing if it’s stronger.
Use the sea salt solution on the outside as well. You can soak it, or you can just wipe it with a qtip. No, it wouldn’t be “a bit much”, as this is actually one of the weaker things to use, and most peoples problem is over-care, which leads to drying out and cracking of the skin.
Do the salt water on the outside 3 times a day.
If the piercer gives you something, you can use that if you prefer, but they don’t always, and its usually overpriced and its just salt solution in a bottle anyways. Some say bactine for the outside as well, but I found it dried out my skin alot more, and I”m also a little biased to it because i found out later I was allergic to it (maybe why my piercings wouldn’t heal with it) but thats what my roommate uses and she has no problems. They suggested spectro-jel in the purple bottle as an alternative, which I guess means you can wash your face with cleaning solutions, but try not to get it in the piercing too much, especially if its scented or oily or medicated.
I doubt you’ll reject the peircing, but if you find it’s too tight and sinking in with the swelling, go back and get it changed pronto.
Good luck and let me know if you want any more help.
