How long can I take my navel piercing, but until the closing?

I dance far ahead and not allowed to have navel piercing because I have to remove it. I had my piercing for at least two years. I was wondering how long I can put aside before it closes. All past experiences?

Since you had the piercing for 2 years, can put aside for a few weeks without end. You start to close after one month, but even after you are still able to seal only put water in the drilling easier.

Can you go swimming with a new belly button piercing?

So I’m planning on getting my belly button pierced on friday without my mother knowing, but I’m going on a cruise in august, I won’t be swimming in chlorine but I will be swimming on the beach. Is that safe for the belly button piercing. Plus, I might be going to camp, and that means I have to swim in lake water.

Is non chlorine water safe to safe in with a unhealed belly button piercing ?

I suggest you shouldn’t go swimming for a while.

Your belly button piercing will definitely get infected once you swim even in non-chlorinated water. The beach has saltwater. I think salt will make your belly button infected. Well, I don’t have a medical background but I do know that salt dries up the skin (like mummies). It might be bad for a newly-pierced belly button.

You said you’ll be swimming in the lake. In my opinion, lake water isn’t that clean (of course, it also has impurities) and there might be some nasty stuff in the lake that might get into your belly button.

So, don’t swim first okay? And maybe you should also ask for the opinion of the one who’ll do the piercing. And please, tell this to your mother as early as now (I mean, even before getting your piercing). She’ll be upset if she finds out later.
