ages for body piercings

What is the legal age for tattoos and / or body piercing (without parental consent) in New South Wales?
Maybe I should say … NSW New South Wales, a state in Australia.
Teenagers will be banned tongue or navel pierced without parental consent Under new laws passed in NSW. Genital and nipple piercings will be outlawed under 16 years under the proposed amendments relate more children older medical schools seek medical help for potentially fatal infections. However, adolescents are free to transfer its lobes ears, eyebrows, nose or lips. The Sunday Telegraph revealed in August, the state government plans to ban cosmetic teens plastic surgery such as breast implants and Botox injections. NSW Premier Morris Iemma said the move to regulate the drilling industry the body being taken for health reasons. Maddison Deans, 13, of Drummoyne, was accompanied by his stepfather, Bill Kearns, to give his consent, where I had completely pierced navel pierced in Darlinghurst yesterday. "Many of my friends had to do and I think it's good. It is a gift Christmas,''he said, before qualifying in the pain process nearly eight out of 10. Mr Iemma said concerns were raised among local health professionals to the possibility of serious infections such as hepatitis B and C, toxic shock syndrome or blood poisoning occur following a puncture. In the case of piercing of the tongue, health experts warned infection can cause swelling that had the potential to block airways. Iemma said dentists also raised concerns about the number of teenagers who had skipped their teeth and gums are declining due to tongue piercing. "As a parent of four small children, I fear that the current law means that children can suffer from body piercing without telling their parents,''he said. Mr. Kearns said he assumed it was illegal for children under 16 years to get piercings without parental permission. "I, for children aged 16 years is a good idea because otherwise it could be a hole somewhere and their parents do not even know until you have an infection or something like that,''he said. The decision to ban piercing is a government recommendation of the community of Government Services Ministerial Advisory Committee. The bill puts the burden of drilling in the classrooms to ensure a client-age children parental consent. This could be for a written note or parental presence. Piercing practitioners who do not meet standards are required to pay a fine. Children who want a tattoo must provide written consent from their parents and indicate the location of the proposed tattoo. had been piercing excluded from the legislation governing tattooing as it was generally considered reversible. Therefore, you must be an adult if you want your body pierced
what is the age in Maryland for body piercings for minors with an adult?
i live in virginia and i went to the mall with my mom to get my nose percied , but i didnt know that you needed to be at least 15 to get it in virginia with a parent . well my aunt lives in maryland so my mom told me when we go to visit her we can get it then if the law is 14 or above with parents there . so can anyone tell meh what the law is over there. ?
thank you so much . ill really aprecate . (:
Maryland has absolutely no law dictating a minimum age for tattooing or piercing.
However, here’s the rub: A piercing shop has the right as a business to make their own rules and they are allowed to refuse service to a person below a certain age. They have a practical reason for doing this: If you get an infection, they could get sued or fined by the state health board because a person under 18 is not capable of rendering informed consent without a parent. The shop may LIE to you and say it’s the law for below a certain age, but this isn’t true. They just don’t want you to argue with them.
You will need to question a shop you like first to see what their specific rules are, because each will be different.
As an interesting side note that may be more useful to you, I checked Virginia’s laws too: That piercing shop you went to in VA was actually lying. You do not need to be 15 to get a piercing with a parent or guardian present. Virginia only has a law that says you must be 18 to get one without a parent. If you have a parent with you, there is no minimum age in the law. That piercer you went to simply made that rule as a personal choice. Do not argue with them, it is there right to refuse service.
However, you may want to shop around and ask at a few other piercing places to see if they will do it. If your mom goes with you, there is no law stopping them.
