Hints on Dealing With Body Language

A great deal can probably be said about body language in terms of communication. Body language communicates what your thinking and feeling a long time before any words have fallen out of your mouth. You’ll speak with words, but your gestures could possibly be communicating something different to what your actually saying, and while communicating, only 20% of the words that come out of your mouth are in reality important, the other 80% comprises the way you say what your saying and also the body gestures used.

In the following paragraphs I’ll be discussing some body language signs which people use daily, and how they are communicated. Are you aware that crossing your arms can be regarded as defensive, like your arms are a barrier separating you from those surrounding you? The next time your having a conversation with someone, and are wondering if there lying, focus on what the person does with their hands and mouth. If you’re a male and having a conversation with a female you find attractive, take note of what she does with her body, as females can provide you with many clues as to whether they’ve got mutual feelings. Does she stroke her hair when speaking with you? Does she lick her lips? Does she stoke a pen or her arm, does she rub her legs together? Let alone eye contact, is she keeping a strong eye contact on you or is she looking around everyone in the room? Take note of these signs which can provide a general impression of her opinion of you.

When inside a group, look closely at how folks are standing. Obviously, if someone has their back faced to someone, they’ve no fascination with what that individual is about, and is in ways attempting to block them out of any conversation. Also pay attention to peoples feet, since you can find who people are including in the conversation by their feet. Generally, if there are a small grouping of 3 people in conversation, where there standing in a triangle formation, all three of them will be standing with their left foot in a 10 o’clock position and their right foot in a 2 o’clock position, so as to point as to who they like at the time. As the size of the group changes, and as people stand in several positions, the members of that group will unconsciously change the position of their feet in order to point to those and include those they see as relevant at that moment. Notice this inside a bar, someone can be in a group, however their feet can be pointing in a different direction to the people in their group, where are there feet pointing? You can be assured what or who there feet are pointing at is exactly what they see as relevant at that time.

Also the eyes expose subtle clues. If an individual is asked a question, take note of how they point their eyes. It is commonly known that if the individual moves their eyes to their upper left when answering the question, there seeking to remember the answer, and when they move there eyes to their upper right there trying to create the solution, or lie. For the reason that the left side of the brain contains the memory region, whilst the right side of the brain contains the creativity region.

There are numerous clues which the body may give away without you even realising, pay attention to those produced by others, and in addition those made by yourself.
