What type of wood and non-toxic finish required for this project?
I seek to carve out a piece of body jewelry wood. While the actual size is not a problem, I'm not sure what type of wood and finish to use. I need a timber that has some weight to one and of preference is black or cherry. I also need to know what type of finish to use for wood to completely seal the wood so the finished part will in no odor, is easy to wash, and (especially) does not irritate the skin. I thought a few coats of acrylic matte varnish might do, but I am open to suggestions. Please let me know what you think go to work!
Do not use anything w / an open grain. A wood naturally dark would be better because in contact with skin and / or smear and it would be necessary. Consortium, Bronx, New York and other online shops are rare woods of different colors and bits of grain. As to an end? ….. There may need. Grinding / polishing can be enough for a wood and oil A hardwood w more light rub / natural wax such as beeswax, carnauba or show the grain, it would be better than any other type of acrylic coating and will get better w / use and age in the same manner as briar pipes. Is this made of Bioplast or acrylic?
I got a pack of Body rage jewelry from spencers that had black and white(clear?) circular barbell rings. i wasnt sure if it was made from acryllic or from bioplast (its called biopierce at spencers). do you know which it was? they are flexible and smooth. Their number is so clbk2pk16ghs. in the top of the barcode it says that, if that helps.
and they’re not on the spencers website anymore either.
iv never heard of acrylic being soft and bendy.
